You know you’re getting old when you have to think about how old you are – mid 30′s – I have a wife of 10 years and 3 children. Every parent thinks their kids are the greatest. I’m in that boat. They can bring you the greatest joy and send you bald in only a matter of moments.
Born in Auckland, New Zealand. Have spent most of my life here with the exception of 2 years in my early teens living in South Africa which I wouldn’t swap for anything and 3 years in Sydney Australia during my 20′s – 2 of which I went to Bible College – again I wouldn’t swap this for anything. That third year in Sydney I’d probably swap in a heart beat….. Travel to the Colorado every couple of years to going skiing over Christmas. Love the Pacific Islands – want to spent more time there.
In 1992 I was studying at University and during 1 particular lecture I decided to talk to God and had probably the most important 1 way conversation of my life – I really never expected there to be an answer to my question…. a month later I was flawed to see that there were answers. The conversation went exactly like this….. “right, if there is a God, you can know what I’m thinking, and if you can hear what I’m thinking then show yourself to me, prove to me that you are real……”
……God showed himself to me…undeniably…and the thing that really surprised me…. He was the God of the Christian…… I really thought that that “god” was a geek and a bit of a loser…… but from that moment I gave my heart to God my life has changed, mentally, phyiscally, spiritually……. in really so many way…..
so this blog is predominantly about my morning time with God…….
This page has the following sub pages.
Hi Captain Jack,
just cleaning my e-mail box yesterday I found an email from Maryanne fowarding your blog site (that was in May). I never got around to have a look before and I was very surprised…
I did not realised the deepness of your thoughts. I read a few of your postings and was quite moved by some. I’ll come back to read more.
I know you take your best inspiration from the Bible but I would like to mention to you a wonderful book (actually there’s 3 but the first one is best), maybe you have read it already or heard of it – it was quite popular a while back-. It’s “The Celestine prophecy” by James Redfield. It gave me another level of thoughts about faith and Jesus’s path…..
Hope this finds you all well,
XXxx
